Review of Alexa

"Its name is the recipe, you dumba**!"
Gordon Ramsay is not happy at all with a man that doesn't know how to cook a grilled cheese sandwich, despite being 32 years old.

I chose this commercial because I found it really funny, and was my favorite out of the other commercials listed. I can remember watching it when it was originally airing on TV, so I wanted to "relive" the experience by dissecting the advertisement and reviewing it.

The message that I, and many others, took away from originally watching it when it aired, was that what Amazon was trying to communicate, was that Alexa will always be there for you, and that she will have everything that you need.

At the end of the commercial, Alexa says "Thanks guys, but I'll take it from here," meaning that she can do things better than her competition and her replacements, and that supposedly, nothing can beat and exceed her.

Various celebrities such as Gordon Ramsay and Cardi B were used as the "replacement" voices while the real Alexa had lost hers, mainly to grab the attention of the viewers watching the advertisement.

The personalities of the celebrities were used in the video to both grab people's attention and make them laugh. This was primarily shown when a person would ask Alexa for something, and the person voicing would share their opinion or make a comment on whatever it was the person said or asked. A good example would be, when a man in the video asked Alexa how to make a grilled cheese sandwich, Gordon Ramsay, who was voicing his Alexa, got angry that the man, at 32 years old, didn't know how to make grilled cheese, stating that the name is the recipe. Gordon Ramsay is known to be easily aggravated in his shows, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, and sometimes MasterChef. Thus is why this personality is given in the commercial.

I think that this commercial is great, even if you don't like Amazon or their products. In my opinion, using celebrities to promote your commercial is a good idea because, as stated earlier, it grabs your viewer's attention. Using popular people or ideas is a good way to promote your product, and have people be more likely to become interested to learn more about the item, or even purchase it.
